February 17, 2006
According to a recent study by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Rollins College’s endowment ranks in the top 10 percent nationally. The endowment study shows Rollins had a one-year market value increase of 27.8 percent. The College’s 10-year return-on-investment also ranked in the top 10 percent. More than 700 colleges and universities participated in the study, and other top schools included the likes of Harvard, Princeton and Yale.
“The strong investment performance of the Rollins’ endowment is a result of sound professional management, strategic asset allocation and a long-term appreciation approach to investing,” said George Herbst, Rollins College vice president and treasurer. “Rollins understands the obligation our endowment places on us, not only to provide current income, but to assure support for future generations as well.”
