Members of the Rollins Community Play Santa for Local Foster Kids
December 13, 2005
On Wednesday, December 4, Central Florida foster children came to the College for an afternoon of fun with students, faculty and staff.
During the 5th Annual Holiday FunFest, kids from the Charlee House and Children's Home Society of Central Florida partnered with a Rollins buddy for an afternoon of games, activities, gifts, dinner and even a visit with Santa.
Children also experienced a live nativity scene and made snow cones and candy cane reindeer at activity tables in the Cornell Campus Center.
Other highlights included Dean of Faculty Roger Casey dressed up as Santa Claus and illusions performed by President Lewis Duncan.
Holiday FunFest is a multi-cultural celebration that honors all holiday traditions and has been a winter time tradition at Rollins since 2000. This year, more than 60 foster children from came to campus for event. About 250 people from the Rollins community (including students, faculty and staff) participated and made the event possible.
